One of the most attractive small monuments in Porto is ‘A Flora’ which is located in the Cordoaria Garden, also known as the João Chagas Garden, off the Campo Mártires da Pátria. It is the work of Portuguese sculptor Teixeira Lopes (junior) and was inaugurated in August 1904. Created to pay homage to the renowned 19th century horticulturist José Marques Loureiro, it comprises the bronze figure on a stone pedestal. There is an effigy of José Marques Loureiro in a bronze medallion on the pedestal.
