The Casa Museu Guerra Junqueiro is a beautiful Baroque-style 18th century building and was the former home of the renowned poet and political activist Guerra Junqueiro (1850-1923). It is attributed to a Portuguese architect from the Nicolau Nasoni school. Junqueiro’s private art collection includes furniture, ceramics, tapestries, jewellery, Georgian and Portuguese silver, as well as a wonderful set of English alabaster sculptures. There is an unusual display of colourful Chinese clogs in the Dom João V room.
