Built in 2003 and the venue for the opening ceremony of the 2004 Euro football cup, the Estádio do Dragão is a fine example of modern architecture and the home of Porto FC. Designed by Manuel Salgado, it seats just over 50,000 and cost close to € 100 million. Classified by UEFA as a five-star stadium, it contains a conference centre, shopping areas, restaurants, and leisure facilities, and was the venue for the Rolling Stones on their 2006 world tour. Features include more than 20,000 square metres of blue and white azulejo tiles and two giant rotating TV screens.
