Duquesa Beach is named after the Palace of the Dukes of Palmela to the west and at low tide links up with the neighbouring Conceição beach. There is easy access from the promenade. Conditions at the beach are suitable for windsurfing, sailing and diving. Lifeguards are on duty in season, there are facilities for the disabled and the average seawater temperature in summer is 17-19 ºC. Parking is available and there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Umbrellas and small craft can be hired.
