Opened in 1992, the museum covers the history of trams in Porto since the days of the first horse drawn ‘American Car’ in 1872. The first electric tram used, the No.22, is on display. This was the first such vehicle on the Iberian Peninsula, arriving in 1895. The museum exhibits all the different types of trams and also covers all other forms of public vehicles which have operated in the city. Go for a ride on Porto’s last tram, No.18, which makes a return trip on a scenic route to Rua Infante Dom Henrique.
