Parede Beach can be accessed either from the Avenida coast road or via the tunnel from town. The beach has always been popular for its therapeutic properties, arising from the presence of iodine in combination with long hours of sunshine. Bathers should be aware of the number of rocks which are just offshore. This is an EEC blue flag beach with lifeguards on duty during season and is suitable for diving. The average seawater temperature in summer is 17-19 ºC. There are facilities for the disabled and plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. Umbrellas can be hired.
