Pine Cliffs was opened in 1990 and is one of Portugal’s most original golf courses, built on the edge of spectacular cliffs overlooking the sea. The nine-hole course is not very long, but it presents an interesting challenge to golfers, whatever their handicap. Designed by Martin Hawtree, it was built in a pine wood with consideration for the existing countryside. The Pine Cliffs course hosted the Portuguese Ladies Open in 1988. For several years the club’s president was British motor-racing driver Nigel Mansell, Formula One world champion. Facilities include: Driving Range, Clubs hire, Trolleys, Putting Green, Pro-shop, Restaurant and Bar.
